Classes are held outdoors at Spruce Forest Artisan Village in Grantsville, MD
Upcoming Classes:
The 2024 class schedule should be up by early May. For groups of 4 or more, classes can be scheduled. Children under 18 (who are physically big enough to use the equipment) can take a class with a parent or guardian present. If you are signing up a minor you MUST contact mike@medelmanart.com FIRST to be sure they can meet the demands of the class.
Classes are held outdoors and may be canceled due to predicted bad weather or low enrollment. If a class is canceled, you will be given minimum 24 hours notice and a full refund.
Cancellation policy: If you cancel with 72 hours or more notice of the classes start time you get a full refund, 48-24 hours notice is a 50% refund, less than 24 hours notice there are no refunds. If you are late you might not be able to finish the class in the alotted time slot.
Workshop Rules:
Wear Safety glasses at all times!
Be aware of others in the class at all times.
You MUST wear proper clothing. Proper clothing is full length cotton pants (jeans), a cotton shirt, and closed toe shoes (leather is best but standard tennis shoes are acceptable.) Do not wear polyester or other synthetic fabrics, they will catch fire.
Do NOT hit the anvil with a hammer if there is no hot metal on it, doing so can damage the anvil.
Follow the teachers instructions at all times.

About Deep Creek
Deep creek lake is a man made lake in Garrett County Maryland. It covers about 3,900 acres and has 69 miles of shoreline. Deep Creek Lake State Park has a public boat launch that is open 24 hours a day, weather permitting, and the park has a separate launching area for canoes, kayaks and other crafts. Deep Creek Lake State Park also offers a beach area for swimming and kayaks, paddleboards, tubes and beach chairs are available for rent at the beach. A nominal entrance fee applies to visitors of Deep Creek Lake State Park.
Nearby Recreation
Adjacent to Deep Creek Lake is a nature lovers dream. The Savage River and Potomac State Forests offer secluded hiking and biking trails. The Fork Run recreation area offers biking, hiking and climbing activities. Just south of Deep Creek, Swallow Falls offers the largest waterfall in Maryland as well as a stunning hiking trail and state park. Herrington Manor State Park near Oakland offers hiking, biking and swimming in a pristine setting.

What is there to do in Deep Creek Lake? A lot! Deep Creek Lake State park has biking and hiking trails, as well as a public beach and boat launch. The town of McHenry, which is on the lake, offers dining, arcades, mini golf, and a variety of other activities. The nearby Wisp resort offers golf, skiing, a mountain coaster and lodging.
